Caring Tips for Your Adult Smile

Posted .

Your adult smile is important to our Quality Orthodontic Care team, which is why we are happy to give you the tips you need to take care of it! Even as an adult, your smile is prone to many dental problems, like tooth decay and gum disease, and we recommend avoiding these issues as much as possible by doing the following things:

· Keep up on oral hygiene: Brushing, flossing, and rinsing are extremely important. So, make sure to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and rinse your mouth daily with mouthwash. As you do these things, please remember to use a soft-bristled toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, and beneficial rinse.

· Have a balanced diet: Eating healthy foods each day will keep your chompers in tip-top shape. We recommend eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, turkey, chicken, fish, and low-fat dairy products as much as possible.

· Visit your dentist: It is extremely important that you visit your dentist every six months for a professional cleaning and exam. These appointments will help you completely avoid gum disease and will help you maintain a strong and healthy smile.

These steps are extremely important, and they make it possible to have a strong and successful smile. If you have any questions or if you have a hard time understanding these guidelines, please remember that you can always call 770-609-3270 and talk to a member of our dental team. We also encourage you to schedule an appointment with Dr. John Fleming if you believe your smile has already fallen victim to tooth decay and gum disease. We are here to help you!
